Adult Basic Education

Hastings Adult Basic Education programs help you get the solid foundation today’s job market demands. Classes are held day and evening, located at Tilden Community Center and Dakota County Technical Center (DCTC).

GED Diploma

NOW is the time to obtain your GED. Work on reading, writing, science, math and social studies at an individual pace which best suits your needs. Official GED testing is also located at Tilden Community Center. Ready to take the first step? Register in the Main Office at Tilden; the office is open from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, 651-480-7670.

English Language Learning (ELL)

Get the language skills that help you get ahead. ELL classes are offered at Tilden Community Center Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Register in the Main Office at Tilden; the office is open from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, 651-480-7670.

Adult Enrichment

Pursue a passion…sharpen your competitive business skills…take control of your life. Find these exciting opportunities and more in an Adult Enrichment class! If you’re a Baby Boomer, we have programs and events scheduled with your special interests in mind. Teachers, take advantage of the online Save Your License option which allows you to complete classes necessary to renew your teaching license. Adult Enrichment classes are held in Hastings Public School buildings (and some off-site locations), most weekday evenings and Saturdays.

Adults with Disabilities

Club Happenings is a community education program that provides specialized classes and activities for adults with disabilities. The program provides classes, activities and services that help break down barriers and allow adults with disabilities the opportunity to participate in Community Education programs. Club Happenings activities and classes are specially designed and adaptable for all abilities. Discover a new skill such as arts and crafts, be with friends while playing bingo, watching movies, singing Karaoke, or playing board games. Become more active during our recreational gym nights.
